Madhya Pradesh – The Heart of Incredible India

Hey,

I hope everyone is doing fine and are safe inside their homes.

So, this blog is about my visit to Madhya Pradesh in February – 2021, we went to attend a family function and visited Pachmarhi, several temples around Ujjain as well. Well, it did not begin as we planned, we were almost 7-8 hours behind our schedule and there was heavy unseasonal rain when we had to leave for Pachmarhi, yes, rain! mid-February, that too heavy rain with thunderstorms, and our trip was full of ups and downs and filled with adventure.

So let us dive into the blog…

Day – 1

We visited Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga and Kalbhairav temple. Clicking pictures is not allowed inside the temples so couldn’t click more pictures but, I am sharing all the pictures I have. As we were already behind the planned schedule and couldn’t reach on time for other temples and had to take a halt near Ujjain at night.

Day – 2

We visited Shri Mamleshwar, and Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga on this day early morning. It is widely believed that a pilgrimage to the Omkareshwar is not complete without visiting Mamleshwar temple as it is believed to house half of the 4th Jyotirlinga, the other half is in Omkareshwar Temple. And left for Khandwa to attend a family function. After attending the function we left for Panchmarhi late at night after the rain stopped.

Day – 3,4

We reached Pachmarhi in the morning, checked into the hotel, and got freshen up. With this, the most awaited part of this trip began.

Pachmarhi is a hill station in Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh which is also called as “Queen of Satpura”. The best medium for local sightseeing is gypsy, Pachmarhi has narrow and hilly roads, one should totally avoid private vehicles and/or self-driving here. Forest department provides gypsy rides on sharing bases which charge 1500 rs. per day which excludes forest visit charges which are totally affordable and worth the experience.

  1. Pandava caves – It is said that these caves were shelter of pandavas during their exile time and for some buddhist monks.

2. Bee falls – Among many waterfalls in Pachmarhi Bee falls is the most popular and it provides drinking water to the entire city. One can reach the falls after a short trek and enjoy the view. no one is allowed to bathe under the fall as it is drinking water for the entire city.

3. Jata Shankar caves – It is believed that Lord Shiva hide from the wrath of Bhasmasur. The caves boast of a natural Shivalingam under the shadow of a massive rock and the stone formation in the cave closely resembles the Sheshnag. The rock formation in the caves resembles Lord Shiva’s hair.

4. Mahadev hills – Mahadev hills have 2 cave temples of lord shiva. one is Gupta Mahadev or Chhota Mahadev and the main Mahadev is Bada Mahadev cave. It is very peaceful and green

5. Reechgarh – Reechgarh is a huge cave hidden within the folds of the hill of Pachmarhi, which gets its name from a local legend. It is said that once a giant bear Reech in Hindi used to live in this cave. The cave is covered with lush greenery. Also, it is the shooting point of the Ashoka movie.

6. Dhoopgarh – Dhoopgarh is the highest point – 4430 ft. of the Satpura range. After a little trekking one can reach the point. Being at the highest point sunrise and sun set both can be seen from the same mountain which is very rare. However, the sunrise point here is forbidden due to Tigers visiting this point in the early morning. This place has a small eatery that sells tea, soft drinks, etc. One can enjoy beverages and watch the mesmerizing panoramic views of the sunset.

We missed Chauragarh as we did not have much time and had to get back home. But you can add one more day to your visit and visit this place as well.

Winters is the best time to visit. Must visit.

Stay happy and healthy,

Mohini.

BEAUTIFUL ANDAMAN

Hello Everyone,

This blog is about my first trip with my better half, yes this is about my honeymoon. With a winter wedding, and as I didn’t want to go to a cold place, we were left with very limited options for honeymoon and he came up with Andaman which had perfect weather and is a very beautiful place for honeymoon. So, we immediately finalized Andaman as our honeymoon destination. Firstly, I have never been to such place and it was our honeymoon so I was extremely excited plus I am a major Thalassophyte (someone who loves the ocean) , Andaman was perfect location for us especially for me. Best time to visit Andaman is winter season, Because when we visited Andaman it’s temperature was already reaching around 29 – 30 degrees C and it would be more humid and hot in summers.

“Travelling to Andaman is like walking into a fairyland. The charms of Andaman offer a tailor-made vacation for honeymooners.” – Thomas Cook India.

With no direct flights from Ahmedabad to Port Blair one has to go via either Chennai or Kolkata. We reached Port Blair via Chennai and our honeymoon began.

DAY – 1

We reached port Blair around 3 pm and checked in hotel. After getting fresh we visited joggers park which is on hill top and from where you can see entire town (so I have been told, but couldn’t see) and the run way, local beach named Corbyn’s Cove beach, one and only beach in the city which we couldn’t explore more as it was already dark and after that we went for light and sound show at cellular jail. I heard stories from my grandfather about how Veer Savarkar spent his time when in Kala Pani and I got to see it in person. Cellular jail and light and sound show is very moving.

DAY – 2

We reached Havelock island by government ferry and checked in to hotel. After that we visited Radhanagar beach, which is Asia’s one of the most beautiful, cleanest beaches and holds 7th rank in Asia. Radhanagar beach is incredibly amazing beach and is known for swimming, sunbathing and sunset. We enjoyed sunset at Radhanagar beach. It was most pleasant and relaxing time after 2 days of back to back traveling. We stayed at Sea Shell hotel which is a beach resort having almost everything within. The location of Sea Shell is like any traveler’s dream come true. Room amenities needs a bit improvement but overall experience was very good.

DAY – 3

This was the day full of adventures. We started our day early as we scheduled our deep sea scuba diving with Sea Shell’s scuba diving club. My life’s first adventure and most loved part of the trip, it was both challenging and breathtaking experience, the moment I will never forget. I grew up watching animated movies and I still love them a lot 🙂 well, we all have one ocean creature that fascinates us and it is nemo for me.. I got to see nemo and many more fishes. After that we went to elephant beach, which is adventure destination and offers snorkeling, jet ski, banana boat rides, scuba diving and much more. But, Elephant beach closes around 2.00 pm (yes, it closes), so last speed boat leaves at 2.00 pm. Oh! our day was full of awesomeness and we went to Kalapatthar beach in the late noon. It got this name because it has black stones at side of blue clear water and white sand beach. As sun sets early in Andaman most beaches closes around 5.00-6.00 pm and we got back to hotel.

Day – 4

We left Havelock Island and came back to Port Blair by Govt. ferry checked in to hotel. We planned to visit Wandoor beach and Chidiya tapu in Port Blair but, I was tired and exhausted so we decided to stay in and enjoy the beautiful view.

And with this our first and most precious trip ended but this is just a beginning of our beautiful journey. So, we are looking forward to many more blogs 😉

Also i am going to share detailed iteanery of andaman soon. So….

Stay tuned,

Stay Safe,

Mohini.

What I did in the lockdown – 1

Hello,

I hope my blog finds everyone safe at their homes and taking all the good cares of their family and self in this covid-19 pandemic. This pandemic has forced all of us to stay indoors since a few months and now with few relaxations we are able to go outside for work purposes.

So, during this lock-down we all did our favorite activities. Some became self learnt chefs and some tried their hands on arts, some started getting fit by doing exercises they kept promising themselves since a long time and here I did what I love to do the most, I got my self good pictures. Being unable to go outdoors made me get pictures indoors only and I also tried my hand on self portraits. They really turned out well as I was not much of a selfie person till recent times even now I prefer pictures clicked by someone over selfies anytime but here I am being “AATMANIRBHAR” 🙂 I hope you guys like these too and many more to come.

P.S. I also share my pictures on Instagram do visit.

Classic shows to binge-watch on

Hello,

I wish everyone is safe and at home. When you read this we probably will be in the unlock 2.0 phase still having some restrictions and many of us are at home and working from home. I know staying at home for the whole day and from so many days can be frustrating at times but this is for our own good and family’s safety.

So, here I am with 5 classic shows you can binge-watch on while you are home.

  1. F.R.I.E.N.D.S

FRIENDS is an American sitcom television series aired from 1994 to 2004 and has 10 seasons. I would say FRIENDS is the best sitcom I have ever seen and it has made me laugh and cry. TBH when I first started watching it I got bored in the second episode and never wanted to watch it again but one fine day FRIENDS wave hit me as I was reading some post on Instagram and I and my sister started watching it, found it hilarious maybe company matters when you watch some stories like this. After that, we didn’t stop and finished the 1st season in 2 days. Most shockingly my mother also loves the series and binge watches it again and again. In the end, this is all that matters, right? friends, family, people around us how they make efforts for us and helps to make our life easier. So, I would highly recommend this show and a must-watch if you didn’t yet.

2. THE BIG BANG THEORY

The big bang theory is also an American sitcom television series aired from 2007 to 2019 has 12 seasons. The big bang theory circles around the life of 4 friends (scientist), majorly Sheldon cooper. Young Sheldon is the prequel of this series, I watched young Sheldon first and then started watching the big bang theory recently in lockdown itself. Also, this show is very informative and you really can gain a good knowledge of so many scientific things with humor. I just love this show for how all the characters evolve with time, bonding between them grows stronger as they stay together and help each other grow, self-realization of attachments and feelings of Sheldon makes it more beautiful.

3. BROOKLYN NINE-NINE

Brooklyn nine-nine is American police procedural comedy television series aired between 2013- present. 6 seasons are there on Netflix and waiting for others to come. Just don’t compare this with any other police procedural show if you want to enjoy the comedy no deeply solving cases like CID 😉 but a masterful comedy anyone can enjoy. I love sitcoms and hence love this one as well just keep your mind aside, watch and you’ll be laughing like anything.

4. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

The vampire diaries is an American supernatural teen drama series aired between 2009 to 20017 has 8 seasons, which is based on a very popular book series with the same name ” The vampire diaries”. I started watching it too late I guess around 2014 or so, TVD is my favorite television series to date. Though I have an interest factor in supernatural dramas and watched many more after this one, they are recent ones and not classic as TVD. TVD also has related shows like “The Originals” and “The legacies” but both couldn’t match TVD. I just didn’t want to end this TV series, it is just epic all the love stories with a twist and turns, concepts about vampires, witches, hybrids, tribrids, originals, and whatnot, and it been a hell of a ride. Also fell in love with the character Damon played by Ian Somerhalder just love love love seeing him on the screen it is a pleasant treat to my eyes.

5. SUITS

Suits is American legal drama television series air between 2011 and 2019 that has 9 seasons. I started watching it after a friend recommended it around 2016, I know after hearing legal drama, solving lawsuits no one wants to watch it I was one of them too after I started watching this I just got hooked and this became one of my favorite television series. Of course, it is a hypothetical show just to entertain us as we all know real-life lawyers don’t look like them at all, real-life cases are not just as easy as we see it in reel life and make it unrealistic at some point but very good cinematic aspects and plenty to learn from it. Also, the main leads Harvey sector and mike ross’s duo are batman and robbin, the whole cast is just lit and I still can watch it multiple times.

All the shows listed above are on Netflix. Start watching if you haven’t watched it yet, thank me later.

Until then,

Stay home, stay safe,

Mohini Kulkarni.

Animated movies you must watch

Hola,

How are you all? must be fine… and should be fine…

The first adventure of view from my eyes is this post. Before it was all about places I wandered and this will be the first new thing to share.  Let’s get into it then…

I better understand I am all grown up but I have to admit I love watching animated movies, cartoon movies, fairy tales. We all have a child hidden inside us and we all do like watching animated movies right? So, here I am listing Five animated movies I love the most and what I like in those movies as well…

220px-Cinderella_2015_official_poster.jpg

  1. Cinderella (2015 Disney film): I have heard the story of Cinderella hundred times like everyone, Most of us grew up listening to this timeless fairy tale. To watch it on the screen is so beautiful treat, I feel like I am living my childhood again every time I watch this movie.  Lovely costumes, dramatic, and life experience to a story. Much better than beauty and the beast. It also has an amazing message “have the courage and be kind”.b84e3465c251b4f0fb16a564b0e9f8f1.jpg
  2. Frozen (2013 Disney film):  Frozen is an endearing fairy tale about two princesses, their dreams, desires, fears, self-discovery and above all unconditional love for each other. Visually stunning and emotionally arresting. Even if you are not into fairy tales you’ll love this one for it’s unpredictable and keeps you engaged throughout. Eagerly waiting for the second part. Lion-King.jpg
  3. Lion King (2019 Disney film): This 2019 is a remake of animated lion king 1994 movie. “For those who haven’t seen the original, ‘The Lion King’ (2019) is certainly worth a watch for its gorgeous visuals and technical genius and one’s catching it in Hindi will have Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan adding their spark.” – TOIjungle book.jpeg
  4. Jungle Book (2016 Disney film): I grew up watching Mowgli as a T.V. show, Mowgli who is a boy brought up in the jungle by a pack of wolves and used to sing “jungle jungle baat Chali hai pata Chala hai” title song along with the show. didn’t we all? this version is more entertaining,  The threat of death, of tearing teeth and claws, is never far away, whether it’s in the guise of Idris Elba’s slinking Shere Khan, Scarlett Johansson’s seductive snake Kaa, or Christopher Walken’s King Louie, who here is more Mafia Don than interfering ape. Tangled_rapunzel_poster_20.jpg
  5. Tangled ( Disney film): Though tangled is in 3 parts…
    1. Tangled
    2. Tangled ever after
    3. Tangled before ever after

Tangled is based on a fairy tale “Rapunzale” which is a story of a young princess having long long blond hair who was abducted and raised in an isolated tower by Gothel as her own daughter to retain her youth.

must wacth these movies if you have not..

until then,

Love Love,

Mohini Kulkarni.

So I am excited about this new adventure and expanding my own limits by doing this. Many blogs are lined up and soon are coming to your way. Stay tuned 🙂

Hoping for the best,

Auto world vintage car museum

Hello beautiful people,

I hope you all are doing well… Here I am back with an interesting blog from my visit to Ahmadabad. I visited the vintage car museum and it is worth visiting guys and especially for people like me who have a keen eye for vintage cars and artifacts.

Here are more than 150 vintage cars and the oldest is from 1924. Though not only cars, there are vintage tangas and bikes also.

Do not go as per the site they have it is not updated about the fees. When I visited the fees were 100 rs. PP which is affordable and there are 100 rs. charge for clicking pictures which are obvious but this applies on phones as well. And this has a fixed timing as once you enter your fees is valid for 2-3 hours only which was enough for me.

So, this was all about my visit. I hope you guys enjoyed.

Until then,

Lots of love,

Mohini Kulkarni.

ADALAJ STEPWELL, AHMEDABAD

Hello people,

We are at the end of the year 2018 and hope your year went well. Mine was not that well actually. But I wish next year (2019) will bring me and you more joy and fun.

Today’s blog is about Adalaj stepwell which is located at Ahmedabad. This is the second step well I am visiting details about first I have already posted on the blog and still will share the link below.

Previous blog:- SEVASI STEP WELL (PART1), SEVASI STEP WELL (PART2)

I visited this step well with my siblings and on the same day, I had the presentation of my masters’ dissertation phase 1 in the morning (which went well with God’s grace).

This stepwell was built in 1498 in the memory of Rana veer sing by his queen. This stepwell is 5 stories deep and well-architected. This stepwell is so beautiful to visit. But sadly when I visited this place, it was all crowded with students and other visitors as they were visiting historical places and it was weekend. But somehow I managed to capture the beauty of this well which I am sharing with you all.

Enjoy and do visit who are in or near Ahmedabad.

Until then,

Love love,

Mohini Kulkarni.

QUTBUDDIN’S TOBM (HAZIRA)

Hello people,

Here I am back with one more place to explore for barodians. yes, this is in Vadodara, Gujarat. people who do not know where this is, I am sharing some details here.

This mausoleum is known as Hazira, contains graves of kubuddin Muhammad khan who was the tutor of Salim, son, and successor of Akbar and also and that of his son naurang khan who held important offices in Gujarat under Akbar.

This tomb was built in 1586 A.D. so this makes the tomb nearly 432 years old. this is built on a high octagonal platform with smaller gates on sides. it is in the style of Mughal tombs in Delhi. though the real grave is in an underground chamber and the false grave is in the tomb chamber. I was not able to get in because of some regional activity was going on. but I will go there again, soon enough and repost you guys.

The Qutbuddin tomb is sited near Bhartiya Vidhya Bhavan’s school, ONGC, makarpura, Vadodara. who has not visited this, please go and visit.

Until then,

Lots of love,

Mohini Kulkarni.
